Core principles such as honesty, justice, empathy, and humility are often overshadowed by the strong influence of foreign cultures and social media. This study aims to understand how Islamic values shape the social behavior of Muslim youth, as well as to identify the factors that facilitate or hinder their implementation. Using a qualitative approach with descriptive and phenomenological methods, this research involved semi-structured interviews and participant observations conducted within several Muslim communities in major cities. The collected data were analyzed thematically, identifying key themes related to the practice of Islamic values in the participants’ social interactions. The findings reveal that the application of Islamic values promotes positive social behaviors both in real and digital environments such as honesty in communication, fairness in interactions, and high levels of empathy and tolerance. The main supporting factors include personal faith, family influence, and community support, while the greatest challenges arise from the pervasive impact of social media and modern peer environments. In conclusion, this research highlights the vital role of families, educational institutions, and communities in strengthening the application of Islamic values among young Muslims. Practical recommendations are offered to help Muslim youth preserve their religious identity amid dynamic social changes.
Mochamad Heru Riza Chakim Maulana Arif Komara Omar Arif Al-Kamari Prabawati Nurhabibah Chua Toh Hua Copyright (c) 2025 Copyright (c) 2025 Mochamad Heru Riza Chakim, Maulana Arif Komara, Omar Arif Al-Kamari, Prabawati Nurhabibah, Chua Toh Hua https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ 2025-10-30 2025-10-30 2 2 14 25 10.34306/alwaarits.v2i2.820 Empowering Social Solidarity Through Islamic Digital Da’wah on Social Media Platforms https://journal.pandawan.id/al-waarits/article/view/875
This study focuses on the object of utilizing social media platforms, specifically Instagram and YouTube, as digital da’wah tools to strengthen and empower Islamic communities in the digital era. The transformation of religious communication through visual and interactive platforms has redefined how Muslims engage in da’wah activities and expanded the reach of Islamic messages among younger generations. However, there exists a gap in research concerning how digital content strategies and interactive engagement contribute to building solidarity and empowerment within online Islamic communities. The novelty of this research lies in its integration of Medium Richness Theory with a qualitative case study approach that simultaneously evaluates the effectiveness of visual da’wah content in fostering user engagement and a sense of belonging among social media audiences. Based on content analysis and interviews with active da’wah account managers, the study’s findings reveal that visual, concise, and interactive religious content has the strongest impact in establishing emotional connection, enhancing social solidarity, and encouraging active participation both online and offline. The discussion emphasizes that the success of digital da’wah is not solely determined by creative content design, but also by ethical communication practices, digital literacy, and collaborative strategies between preachers, religious organizations, and Muslim influencers. This research provides conceptual contributions to the development of adaptive, ethical, and sustainable digital da’wah strategies, while also aligning with SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
Aswadi Jaya Denok Wahyudi Setyo Rahayu Muhamad Nabil Bigofik Fhia Amelia Marta Rodriguez Copyright (c) 2025 Aswadi Jaya, Denok Wahyudi Setyo Rahayu, Muhamad Nabil Bigofik, Fhia Amelia, Marta Rodriguez https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ 2025-10-30 2025-10-30 2 2 39 51 10.34306/alwaarits.v2i2.875 The Effectiveness of Islamic Educational Videos in Instilling Tolerance https://journal.pandawan.id/al-waarits/article/view/881
Instilling values of tolerance is an important aspect of Islamic education, especially in multicultural societies that are prone to social conflicts. This study aims to measure the effectiveness of Islamic educational videos in enhancing students’ tolerance attitudes. The method used is a quasi-experiment involving 30 male and female students from Raharja University as the research sample. The research instrument consisted of a tolerance attitude scale administered before and after the intervention (pre-test and post-test). The intervention was conducted through the screening of Islamic educational videos on the theme of interfaith tolerance over two days. The paired t-test results showed a significant increase in tolerance attitude scores (pre-test mean = 64.0; post-test = 78.4; p < 0.05), confirming that Islamic visual media has a positive effect on improving students’ understanding and empathy. These findings indicate that Islamic educational videos can be an effective and transformative strategy in digital-based character education, especially for the younger generation who are familiar with visual media and technology. One of the potential media used in character education is Islamic educational videos. These videos not only present information but also build empathy, emotions, and deep understanding through strong narratives and visuals.
Palma Juanta Ahmad Al Hadi Musthofa Sherli Triandari Kamal Arif Al-Farouqi Copyright (c) 2025 Palma Juanta, Ahmad Al Hadi Musthofa, Sherli Triandari, Kamal Arif Al-Farouq https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ 2025-10-31 2025-10-31 2 2 62 71 10.34306/alwaarits.v2i2.881 Contributions of Muslim Scholars to Science and Islamic Education Curriculum https://journal.pandawan.id/al-waarits/article/view/885
Classical Muslim scholars such as Ibnu Sina, Al-Khawarizmi, and Al-Haytham made significant contributions to modern science, yet their achievements remain underrepresented in the Islamic education curriculum in Indonesia. Despite their foundational roles in medicine, mathematics, and optics, many textbooks and curriculum materials overlook these contributions, limiting students understanding of Islamic intellectual heritage. This study aims to identify the contributions of these scholars and examine how their values and works are integrated into the current Islamic education curriculum, providing insights on how historical Islamic scientific achievements can inform and enrich contemporary curriculum development. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed through library research, analyzing classical literature, scholarly works, and national curriculum documents, focusing on representation in textbooks and thematic integration across subjects such as science, social studies, and Islamic education. Findings indicate that although recognition of Muslim scholars exists, their representation remains limited and superficial, highlighting the need for curriculum reconstruction to create a more integrative framework that combines scientific knowledge with Islamic values. Integrating historical Islamic science into the curriculum allows students to engage with the achievements of Muslim scholars meaningfully, fostering a holistic understanding of both intellectual and spiritual heritage, promoting critical thinking, moral reasoning, and an appreciation for the historical foundations of modern science.
Sutama Wisnu Dyatmika Slamet Hidayat Syarif Hidayat Henry Zainarthur Copyright (c) 2025 Sutama Wisnu Dyatmika, Slamet Hidayat, Syarif Hidayat, Henry Zainarthur https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ 2025-10-31 2025-10-31 2 2 83 94 10.34306/alwaarits.v2i2.885 Halal Product Marketing Strategy on TikTok Shop for Gen Z Muslim Consumer Behavior https://journal.pandawan.id/al-waarits/article/view/892
The development of digital platforms such as TikTok Shop has opened up new opportunities for marketing halal products in Indonesia. This study aims to optimize digital technology, such as social media (Instagram, YouTube) and mobile applications, to strengthen contextual da’wah aligned with Islamic values and the spirit of SDGs. Employing a qualitative approach based on previous research and content analysis of digital da’wah in Indonesia, the study identifies effective strategies for spreading Islamic messages. Strategies such as storytelling, short videos, infographics, and interactive animations have proven effective in engaging young audiences, conveying messages of tolerance, social justice, and unity that support social harmony, quality education, and global partnerships. However, challenges such as misinformation, polarization due to provocative content, and low digital literacy hinder the potential of digital da’wah. Proposed solutions include digital literacy training for da’i, strengthened content regulation, and cross-sector collaboration to develop innovative da’wah applications with interactive features, such as Islamic quizzes and discussion forums. By integrating Islamic values and SDGs, digital da’wah can reinforce Islamic identity, promote peace, and enhance educational quality, shaping a virtuous and globally responsive younger generation.
Rani Nuraeni Elisa Ananda Natalia Sondang Visiana Sihotang Meriyana Sunengsih Untung Rahardja Copyright (c) 2025 Rani Nuraeni, Elisa Ananda Natalia, Sondang Visiana Sihotang, Meriyana Sunengsih, Untung Rahardja https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ 2025-10-06 2025-10-06 2 2 1 13 10.34306/alwaarits.v2i2.779 Exploring Islamic Theology in Building Social Harmony in Multicultural Societies https://journal.pandawan.id/al-waarits/article/view/848
Living in a multicultural society presents challenges in achieving social harmony, especially amid cultural, religious, and social value differences. In this context, Islamic theology offers fundamental principles such as peace, tolerance, justice, and compassion that can foster harmonious social interactions. This study aims to explore the role of Islamic theology in creating social cohesion in a multicultural society by examining these values in-depth. A qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method was employed. Primary data were obtained through in-depth interviews with religious leaders and members of the Islamic community, while secondary data included literature on Islamic theology and social harmony. The research findings indicate that Islamic teachings emphasizing peace and justice significantly contribute to the formation of an inclusive and tolerant social environment. Furthermore, social activities that highlight Islamic values, such as social assistance and interfaith dialogue, have proven effective in reducing tensions between groups and strengthening cross-cultural relationships. However, several challenges, such as differences in religious interpretation and prejudices between communities, still hinder the full implementation of these values. In conclusion, Islamic theology has great potential to support social harmony in a multicultural society. This study provides significant theoretical and practical implications for developing social strategies and policy programs based on Islamic values to promote social cohesion.
Yulina Ismiyanti Suca Rusdian Adi Mahdi Hidayatullah Ali Rachman Rukmana Abdullah Arif Kamal Mohammed Yusuf Ali Copyright (c) 2025 Yulina Ismiyanti, Suca Rusdian, Adi Mahdi Hidayatullah, Ali Rachman Rukmana, Abdullah Arif Kamal, Mohammed Yusuf Ali https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ 2025-10-30 2025-10-30 2 2 26 38 10.34306/alwaarits.v2i2.848 Religious Moderation in Islamic Education Through Social Media Based Learning for High School Students https://journal.pandawan.id/al-waarits/article/view/878
To prevent radicalism, intolerance, and religious disinformation in the digital era, young generations need to be equipped with an understanding of religious moderation from an early age. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of social media–based Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning in enhancing students’ moderate attitudes at the Senior High School (SMA) level. The research method employed a descriptive qualitative approach through interviews, observations, and documentation involving 100 students and 5 IRE teachers. The results show that the use of social media in learning successfully fosters tolerance, openness, and respect for diversity. About 75% of students reported becoming more tolerant and open after participating in social media–based learning, while 80% showed improved anti-violence attitudes and greater appreciation for local culture. Platforms such as WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube proved effective in delivering values of religious moderation in an interactive, creative, and contextually relevant manner. However, the study also identified challenges related to digital literacy and content supervision to ensure that religious messages remain aligned with moderation principles. In conclusion, social media–based IRE learning can serve as an innovative strategy to strengthen religious moderation among high school students.

Nuke Puji Lestari Santoso Franses Gabriella Barasa Dwi Nur Ramadhan Muhammad Taufik Nugraha Jonathan Parker Copyright (c) 2025 Nuke Puji Lestari Santoso, Franses Gabriela Barasa, Dwi Nur Ramadhan, Muhammad Taufik Nugraha, Jonathan Parker https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ 2025-10-31 2025-10-31 2 2 52 61 10.34306/alwaarits.v2i2.878 Optimization of Digital Marketing Strategies for Halal Products through Social Media among Gen Z https://journal.pandawan.id/al-waarits/article/view/884
The rapid advancement of digital technology has significantly transformed marketing strategies, including within the growing halal product sector.
