The Role of Worship Reminder Applications in Fostering Religious Character Among Muslim University Students

Advances in digital technology today provide numerous conveniences in various aspects of life, including supporting the practice of daily worship. For Muslim students who are often busy with lectures and academic assignments, maintaining a consistent worship routine can sometimes be challenging. Therefore, this study aims to examine how worship reminder applications, such as prayer time notifications, dhikr reminders, and other religious activities, can help improve students’ consistency in performing worship. The study employs a qualitative descriptive method through interviews, observations, and questionnaires administered to 50 students using the applications. The results indicate that worship reminder applications have a positive impact on enhancing students’ prayer discipline, strengthening daily worship practices, and fostering their spiritual awareness. In addition to functioning as reminders, these applications also help users manage their time amidst the demands of a busy academic schedule. Overall, worship reminder applications have proven effective as digital tools that support the sustainable development and reinforcement of Muslim students’ religious character.
