Archiving Repository Policy

ARCHIVING AND REPOSITORY POLICY
AL-WAARITS: Alfabet Jurnal Wawasan Agama Risalah Islamiah, Teknologi dan Sosial is committed to maintaining the long-term preservation, accessibility, and integrity of all published scholarly content. The journal implements digital archiving and repository policies to protect its academic publications against data loss and ensure their continued availability for researchers, authors, and readers.
1 LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe)
LOCKSS is a digital preservation system that enables participating libraries to collect, preserve, and provide access to copies of scholarly journal content. It creates a distributed preservation network in which multiple institutions maintain independent copies of published materials.

Through this approach, preserved content can be checked for integrity and, where supported by the network, restored from other participating copies if the original content becomes damaged or unavailable.

AL-WAARITS aims to support long-term digital preservation through the LOCKSS system, subject to successful configuration and participation in the preservation network.

2 CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe)
CLOCKSS is a digital preservation initiative that provides long-term protection for scholarly publications through a secure, community-governed archive. It is designed to preserve digital content independently and support continued access when published materials are no longer available from the original publisher.

Under applicable preservation and access conditions, CLOCKSS may make preserved content publicly available if a designated trigger event occurs, such as the permanent unavailability of the publisher's content.

AL-WAARITS aims to support long-term digital preservation through CLOCKSS, subject to successful configuration, participation, and the applicable preservation arrangements.

3 Long-Term Digital Preservation
AL-WAARITS is committed to preserving its published scholarly content and maintaining long-term access to the journal's digital records. The journal applies digital preservation measures through its official publishing platform, data backup practices, and recognized digital preservation services, subject to their availability and successful integration.

These measures aim to protect published articles, maintain content integrity, and support the continued availability of scholarly publications.

4 OJS Digital Archive
All published articles and journal issues are maintained and made accessible through the official Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform of AL-WAARITS. The journal's online archive serves as the primary source for accessing published articles and their associated publication information.

The editorial team maintains the journal archive to support the accessibility and retrieval of published scholarly content.

5 Digital Backup
AL-WAARITS seeks to maintain the availability of its digital content through appropriate data backup practices. These practices are intended to minimize the risk of data loss caused by technical failures, system disruptions, or other unforeseen circumstances.

Backup and recovery procedures support the protection of journal files, publication records, and associated digital information.

6 PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)
The PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) is a digital preservation service developed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP) for scholarly journals using Open Journal Systems. It supports the long-term preservation of journal content through a distributed network of participating preservation nodes.

AL-WAARITS recognizes the importance of the PKP Preservation Network as a preservation mechanism and seeks to support digital preservation through this service, subject to successful activation and availability.

7 Self-Archiving and Repository Policy
AL-WAARITS supports self-archiving to encourage the wider dissemination, accessibility, and preservation of scholarly publications. Authors may deposit and share their articles in institutional repositories, subject repositories, personal websites, and other academic platforms in accordance with the journal's applicable copyright and licensing policies.

Authors are encouraged to provide complete publication information and a link to the original article on the official AL-WAARITS website when depositing their work.

8 Version of Record (Published Article)
Authors may share and deposit the final published version of their articles (Version of Record) in institutional repositories, subject repositories, personal websites, and other academic platforms, subject to the applicable copyright and licensing terms.

The published version must remain identifiable as the original work published by AL-WAARITS.

Conditions for Repository Deposit and Reuse
Authors and other users who deposit, share, or reuse published articles must comply with the following conditions:
1 Provide appropriate attribution to the original author(s) and AL-WAARITS as the publishing journal.
2 Include the full bibliographic information of the published article.
3 Include a link to the original article on the official AL-WAARITS website.
4 Provide the article's DOI link, if a DOI has been assigned.
5 Include the applicable Creative Commons license information and a link to the license.
6 Clearly indicate whether any modifications have been made to the original work.
9 Policy Review and Maintenance
AL-WAARITS periodically reviews its archiving and repository policies to maintain the effectiveness of its digital preservation practices. The journal may update its preservation arrangements in response to changes in technology, publishing standards, and the availability of recognized archiving services.

Any significant changes to this policy will be communicated through the journal's official website.
