Copyright, Author Rights, and Licensing Policy

AL-WAARITS: Alfabet Jurnal Wawasan Agama Risalah Islamiah, Teknologi dan Sosial is committed to protecting authors' copyright while supporting the broad dissemination and accessibility of published scholarly works. This policy establishes the principles governing copyright ownership, publication rights, licensing conditions, author rights, and responsibilities for all articles published in AL-WAARITS.

Authors retain the copyright of their published articles. By publishing in AL-WAARITS, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive right of first publication and agree to distribute their work under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

1. Open Access License

All permitted uses require appropriate attribution to the original author(s) and publication source, a link to the CC BY 4.0 license, and an indication of whether changes have been made. Users must not impose additional legal or technological restrictions that prevent others from exercising the rights granted by the license.

2. Copyright Ownership

Authors retain the copyright and intellectual property rights to their original scholarly works published in AL-WAARITS. Copyright ownership is not transferred to the journal or publisher upon manuscript acceptance or publication.

By submitting and publishing an article in Al-Waarits, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive right of first publication and permission to publish, reproduce, distribute, archive, and disseminate the article as part of its scholarly publishing activities. This arrangement allows the journal to make published research openly accessible while authors retain ownership of their work.

3. Publication Rights

Authors grant AL-WAARITS the non-exclusive right to publish and disseminate the accepted article in print, electronic, and other digital formats. The journal may preserve, index, archive, and distribute the published article through its official website and scholarly information platforms.

This publication arrangement does not prevent authors from using, sharing, reproducing, or distributing their own published work, provided that the original publication in Al-Waarits is properly acknowledged and the applicable license terms are respected.

4. Author Rights

Authors publishing in AL-WAARITS retain the following rights without requiring additional permission from the journal, provided that the original publication is properly acknowledged and the applicable license terms are followed.

5. Self-Archiving Policy

AL-WAARITS permits and encourages authors to deposit and share their research works in institutional repositories, subject repositories, personal websites, and other academic platforms to increase research visibility, accessibility, and scholarly dissemination.

Authors may archive the following manuscript versions:

No embargo period is imposed on self-archiving. Authors are requested to acknowledge the original publication in AL-WAARITS by including the article title, journal name, publication year, and DOI or permanent article URL, where available.

6. Author Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all submitted and published materials comply with applicable copyright laws, publication ethics, and scholarly publishing standards.

7. Third-Party Materials and Copyright Exceptions

Materials incorporated into an article that are owned by third parties may be subject to separate copyright and licensing conditions. Such materials are not automatically covered by the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License applied to the article.

Authors must clearly identify third-party materials and indicate their copyright holder, applicable license, and permission status in the article where appropriate.

The responsibility for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted materials rests with the authors unless otherwise agreed in writing. The journal may request evidence of permission before publication.

Users who reuse, adapt, reproduce, or redistribute articles published in Al-Waarits must provide appropriate credit to the original author(s), identify Al-Waarits as the original publishing journal, provide a link to the CC BY 4.0 license, and indicate whether modifications have been made.
