The growing awareness of the Muslim community regarding the importance of consuming halal products has encouraged the use of digital technology to support fast and practical verification processes, one of which is through the Halal Scanner application. This application facilitates checking the halal status of products through barcode scanning, but the effectiveness and accuracy of the information still require evaluation to avoid errors in consumer decision-making. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Halal Scanner application in validating halal and Muslim-friendly products by assessing the performance of the application's functions, features, and database against official halal certification data. The research methods included a literature review, direct testing of barcode scanning on five products from several categories, and comparing the scan results with official data from halal certification bodies as a validation standard. The results showed that the application was able to present information quickly, within 1–3 seconds per scan, and was easy for users to understand. However, based on the test results, the application's accuracy level only reached 60\%, with 40\% of products not being verified correctly due to limited database completeness and various barcode types. These findings indicate that Halal Scanner is quite effective as an initial tool in validating Muslim-friendly products, but cannot yet be used as a primary reference without additional verification. Therefore, further development is needed in the form of regular database updates, improved scanning technology, and integration with official halal data to make the application more accurate and reliable.
