Contemporary social change has transformed patterns of interaction, social relationships, value orientations, and moral practices within Muslim communities. These changes present increasingly complex ethical challenges, particularly when Islamic moral principles encounter the evolving dynamics of social life. Individualism, weakening social solidarity, changing patterns of interpersonal relationships, and shifts in moral orientations highlight the need to reconstruct the ethics of Muslim society to ensure its continued relevance to contemporary social conditions. This study aims to analyze the need for reconstructing the ethics of Muslim society based on fundamental Islamic principles while examining their relevance in addressing social change. This study employs a qualitative integrative literature review approach by analyzing various scholarly sources related to Islamic ethics, Muslim society, social change, moral values, and the transformation of contemporary life. The findings indicate that ethical reconstruction should not be understood as a modification of Islam’s fundamental principles, but rather as a process of contextualizing the application of Islamic values in response to emerging social issues. The proposed reconstruction framework integrates justice, compassion, trustworthiness, ihsan (excellence in conduct), ukhuwah (brotherhood), and public welfare as the foundations of ethics, which are manifested through individual responsibility, social solidarity, and institutional ethics. This reconstruction can serve as a conceptual foundation for fostering a Muslim society characterized by moral resilience, social concern, and the ability to adapt to change. This study contributes to the development of Islamic social ethics by connecting normative Islamic values with the realities of contemporary social life. Thus, the relevance of Islamic ethics lies not only in preserving fundamental values but also in the ability to actualize them contextually in response to the dynamics of social life.
