Plagiarism Policy

SABDA Journal is committed to maintaining academic integrity and ensuring that all manuscripts are original and appropriately acknowledge the sources and contributions of other authors.

Similarity Screening

All submitted manuscripts are screened for textual similarity using Turnitin as part of the editorial process. The similarity score is not, by itself, considered definitive evidence of plagiarism. Editors assess Turnitin similarity reports contextually, taking into consideration legitimate quotations, references, commonly used terminology, methodological descriptions, and other acceptable forms of textual overlap.

Manuscripts exceeding the 20% similarity threshold may be returned to the authors for revision and clarification. Manuscripts containing substantial or inappropriate unattributed overlap may be rejected.

Suspected Plagiarism

If plagiarism or substantial unattributed overlap is suspected, the editors may investigate the matter and request an explanation from the authors. Depending on the severity of the case, the manuscript may be returned for revision, rejected, or handled in accordance with applicable publication-ethics procedures.

Self-Plagiarism

Authors must not reuse substantial portions of their previously published work without appropriate acknowledgment. Any reuse of previously published material must be properly cited and transparently disclosed to the editor.

Self-plagiarism identified during the editorial process may result in a request for revision or rejection, depending on the extent and nature of the overlap.

Duplicate Publication

Manuscripts submitted to SABDA Journal must not be simultaneously submitted to or published in another journal. Authors must disclose any closely related manuscripts or previous publications that contain overlapping content.

Duplicate or redundant publication may result in rejection of the manuscript or further editorial action if the issue is identified after publication.

Post-Publication Plagiarism

If plagiarism or significant unattributed overlap is identified after publication, SABDA Journal may investigate the matter and take appropriate action. Depending on the nature and severity of the case, actions may include publication of a correction, expression of concern, or retraction.

All plagiarism-related cases are handled in accordance with principles of academic integrity, fairness, transparency, and applicable publication-ethics standards.
