Plagiarism Policy
Jurnal MENTARI: Manajemen, Pendidikan dan Teknologi Informasi is committed to maintaining academic integrity and ensuring that all submitted manuscripts represent original scholarly work. Authors are required to acknowledge all sources, ideas, data, and contributions from other researchers appropriately and transparently.
Similarity Screening
All submitted manuscripts are screened for textual similarity using plagiarism detection software, such as Turnitin, as part of the editorial process. The similarity score alone is not considered definitive evidence of plagiarism. Editors evaluate similarity reports carefully, taking into account legitimate quotations, references, commonly used terminology, methodological descriptions, and other acceptable forms of textual overlap.
Manuscripts exceeding the 20% similarity threshold may be returned to the authors for revision and clarification. Manuscripts containing substantial unattributed overlap or other forms of inappropriate textual borrowing may be rejected. The editorial team reserves the right to assess each manuscript individually based on the nature, extent, and context of the identified similarities.
Suspected Plagiarism
If plagiarism or substantial unattributed overlap is suspected, the editorial team of Jurnal MENTARI may investigate the matter and request an explanation from the authors. Depending on the severity of the case, the manuscript may be returned for revision, rejected, or handled in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies and applicable standards of academic integrity.
Self-Plagiarism
Authors must not reuse substantial portions of their previously published work without appropriate acknowledgment and disclosure. Any reuse of previously published text, data, figures, tables, or other materials must be properly cited and transparently disclosed to the editor, where applicable.
Self-plagiarism identified during the editorial process may result in a request for revision or rejection, depending on the extent and nature of the overlap. Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submissions provide a clear and original scholarly contribution.
Duplicate Publication
Manuscripts submitted to Jurnal MENTARI must not have been published previously in substantially the same form or be under simultaneous consideration by another journal. Authors must disclose any related manuscripts, conference papers, preprints, or previous publications that contain overlapping content.
Duplicate or redundant publication may result in manuscript rejection. If such an issue is identified after publication, the editorial team may conduct an investigation and take appropriate editorial action in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies.
Post-Publication Plagiarism
If plagiarism or significant unattributed overlap is identified after an article has been published, Jurnal MENTARI may investigate the matter and request clarification from the authors. The journal will assess the evidence and determine the appropriate action based on the seriousness of the case.
Depending on the findings, actions may include publication of a correction, an expression of concern, or retraction of the published article. Any action will be undertaken in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies and applicable scholarly publishing standards.
Editorial Responsibility
Jurnal MENTARI expects all authors to uphold the principles of honesty, originality, transparency, and accountability throughout the research and publication process. The editorial team is responsible for evaluating suspected plagiarism fairly and consistently while protecting the integrity of the scholarly record.
All plagiarism-related cases are handled in accordance with the principles of academic integrity, fairness, transparency, and responsible scholarly publishing.
