International Transactions on Education Technology (ITEE) is committed to the long-term preservation of its published content. The journal ensures that every article remains permanently accessible to readers, even if the journal website becomes unavailable or the journal ceases publication. To achieve this, ITEE uses the LOCKSS and CLOCKSS systems, which create a distributed archive among participating libraries and allow these libraries to keep permanent copies of the journal for the purposes of preservation and restoration.
Preservation Services
|
LOCKSS Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe An open-source, peer-to-peer preservation system developed by Stanford University Libraries. Participating libraries collect, store, and continuously verify copies of the journal content, and can restore any copy that is damaged or lost. |
CLOCKSS Controlled LOCKSS A dark archive governed by a community of research libraries and publishers. Archived content is not publicly displayed while the journal is available, but is released free of charge to everyone if the journal ceases publication or is no longer accessible online. |
Additional Measures for Long-Term Access
| Measure | Description |
| Digital Object Identifier | Every article is registered with Crossref and receives a DOI with the prefix 10.33050/itee. The DOI provides a permanent link to the article, even if its web address changes. |
| Open metadata | Article metadata are openly available through Crossref and the OAI-PMH interface of the journal, so that indexing services and repositories can harvest them. |
| Journal archive | All issues published since 2022 remain openly available in the Archives of the journal website. |
|
If the journal is no longer available Should ITEE cease publication or its website become permanently unavailable, the content preserved in LOCKSS and CLOCKSS will remain accessible to readers, and all articles will continue to be available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), as described in the Copyright and License Statement. |
