| Free to read No subscription fee |

ITEE provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. In line with the Budapest Open Access Initiative, users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the authors.
| Open access commitment | What it means for readers |
| Free access | All articles are free to read and download. Readers and their institutions are never charged. |
| No embargo | Articles become available on the day they are published, without any delay. |
| No registration | Readers do not need to create an account or log in to access the full text. |
| Full text for every article | Each article has its own page and DOI, with the full text available in PDF. |
| Machine-readable metadata | Article metadata are openly available through Crossref and the OAI-PMH interface of the journal, so that articles can be harvested and indexed. |
| Complete archive | All issues since 2022 remain openly available in the Archives. |
|
Open access is funded by the Article Processing Charge. The cost of publishing is covered by an Article Processing Charge paid after acceptance, as described in the Author Fees policy, so that no reader is ever charged. The terms under which articles may be reused are set out in the Copyright and License Statement. |
