Abstract

This study examined the prevalence of stunting among children aged 24–59 months in Kabasiran Village, Bogor Regency, and investigated its associations with Low Birth Weight (LBW), maternal knowledge, and nutritional status. The findings are intended to inform priorities for maternal nutrition education. b cross sectional study was conducted in July 2025 involving 93 mothers of toddlers recruited through accidental sampling. Data were obtained from structured questionnaires and Maternal and Child Health Books (KIA/KMS). Associations were analyzed using Pearson’s chisquare or Fisher’s exact test, with Odds Ratios (ORs) and 95% Confidence Intervals (CIs). Eighteen children (19.4%) were classified as stunted. Stunting was significantly associated with LBW history (OR = 20.36; 95% CI: 5.65–73.40), poor maternal knowledge (OR = 8.43; 95% CI: 2.50–28.48), and poor nutritional status (OR = 13.16; 95% CI: 3.97–43.61; all p ¡ 0.001). Exclusive breastfeeding was reported for 65.6% of children, but its association with stunting was not tested. The findings identify maternal knowledge, birth weight history, and nutritional status as relevant factors for local stunting prevention planning. Maternal nutrition education may be supported by accessible digital learning materials, although the effectiveness of such technology was not evaluated in this study.
