All allegations will be evaluated based on the available evidence, the seriousness of the concern, and its potential impact on the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record.

1. Definition of Research Misconduct

Research misconduct refers to practices that compromise the originality, credibility, reliability, or ethical integrity of scholarly research. Such misconduct may occur during research design, data collection, blockchain development, smart contract implementation, experimentation, data analysis, manuscript preparation, peer review, or publication.

Within the scope of B-FRONT, research misconduct may involve studies related to blockchain technology, distributed ledger technology (DLT), Web3, smart contracts, blockchain security and privacy, decentralized data storage, decentralized artificial intelligence, data mining, digital governance, interoperability, scalability, and blockchain-based applications. Misconduct may include inappropriate manipulation of research findings, misrepresentation of blockchain implementations, or violations of established academic and publication ethics standards.

Allegations may involve, but are not limited to, the following forms of misconduct:

Fabrication: Inventing research data, participant responses, transaction records, blockchain test results, experimental outcomes, performance benchmarks, security testing results, or other scholarly evidence and presenting them as genuine.

Falsification: Manipulating research procedures, datasets, transaction records, smart contract execution results, statistical analyses, security evaluations, figures, images, or other evidence so that the reported findings do not accurately represent the research conducted.

Plagiarism: Using another person's ideas, words, research findings, datasets, figures, algorithms, software code, smart contract implementations, or other intellectual contributions without appropriate acknowledgment, citation, or attribution.

Duplicate or Redundant Publication: Publishing or submitting substantially overlapping research without appropriate disclosure, justification, or acknowledgment of previous publications.

Authorship Misconduct: Misrepresenting research contributions through inappropriate authorship attribution, omission of legitimate contributors, inclusion of individuals who do not meet authorship criteria, fictitious authorship, or other serious authorship irregularities.

Citation Manipulation: Including irrelevant references, fabricating citations, or manipulating citation practices to artificially influence citation metrics or misrepresent the scholarly foundation of the research.

Research Ethics Violations: Conducting or reporting research involving human participants, organizational data, confidential information, personal information, or proprietary blockchain datasets without appropriate ethical approval, informed consent, or necessary data protection measures where applicable.

Misrepresentation of Blockchain and Technological Applications: Falsely reporting blockchain implementation, smart contract functionality, consensus mechanisms, transaction throughput, latency, scalability, interoperability, security performance, energy consumption, or other technological outcomes. This may also include presenting simulated or theoretical results as actual deployment results, or claiming that a system has been implemented or independently validated when it has not.

Undisclosed Conflicts of Interest: Concealing relevant financial, commercial, professional, personal, or institutional relationships that could improperly influence the research, manuscript evaluation, or publication process.

Misuse of Generative Artificial Intelligence: Using AI-assisted technologies to fabricate research data, generate false references, manipulate research images, misrepresent blockchain experiments, produce unsupported technical claims, or generate scholarly content without appropriate human intellectual contribution and disclosure, where required by the journal's applicable policies.

Blockchain-Specific Research Integrity Violations: Misrepresenting on-chain or off-chain data, transaction histories, cryptographic verification, consensus outcomes, audit trails, or smart contract security findings. This may include selectively altering or omitting material evidence in ways that mislead readers about the reliability, security, or performance of a proposed blockchain system.

Other Serious Publication Irregularities: Practices that undermine research or publication integrity, including peer-review manipulation, unauthorized use of confidential information, misleading research documentation, or deliberate misrepresentation of scholarly contributions.

Honest errors, differences in scholarly interpretation, limitations in experimental design, and methodological constraints do not automatically constitute research misconduct. Such matters will be assessed according to their nature, supporting evidence, and potential impact on the reliability of the research.

2. Reporting Allegations

Any individual with reasonable concerns regarding possible research or publication misconduct involving a manuscript submitted to or an article published in Blockchain Frontier Technology (B-FRONT) may report the issue to the Editorial Team through the journal's official communication channels.

Reports may be submitted by authors, reviewers, editors, readers, researchers, institutional representatives, or other parties possessing relevant information. All reports should be made in good faith and provide sufficient details to facilitate a fair and objective editorial assessment.
