Authorship Criteria
Responsible Authorship · Academic Integrity · Transparency · Accountability
Blockchain Frontier Technology (BFRONT) is committed to ensuring responsible authorship, academic integrity, transparency, and accountability in scholarly publishing. The journal follows established publication ethics principles, including guidance from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), to ensure that authorship accurately reflects each individual's intellectual contribution to the research.
Authorship in BFRONT is reserved for individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the research and meet all the following criteria:
Contributed significantly to the conception or design of the research, the development of blockchain systems or technological solutions, the design of experiments, the acquisition of data, or the analysis and interpretation of research findings.
Participated in drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content.
Reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript before submission or publication.
Agreed to be accountable for their contributions and to help ensure that questions concerning the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.
All individuals listed as authors must meet all four criteria. Individuals who provide only funding, general supervision, administrative support, access to facilities, or routine technical assistance without making a qualifying intellectual contribution should be acknowledged in the Acknowledgments section rather than listed as authors.
All author names must be presented consistently across the manuscript, the journal's online submission system, and the published article.
Any changes to author names, affiliations, or authorship order after submission must be communicated to the Editorial Office and may require written agreement from all affected authors.
First Author
The First Author generally makes the primary contribution to the research, including research design, implementation, analysis, interpretation, and preparation of the manuscript. The specific contribution may vary depending on the research collaboration and disciplinary practice.
Corresponding Author
The Corresponding Author is responsible for communication with the BFRONT Editorial Office throughout submission, peer review, revision, publication, and relevant post-publication matters. The Corresponding Author must ensure that all co-authors have approved the submitted manuscript, that authorship information is accurate, and that required declarations and disclosures are complete.
Co-Authors
Co-Authors are individuals who meet all four authorship criteria and have made meaningful intellectual contributions to the research. Each co-author shares responsibility for the integrity of the work and must approve the final manuscript.
Authors should clearly communicate their respective contributions and resolve authorship arrangements before submission whenever possible.
BFRONT does not permit practices that misrepresent authorship or undermine the integrity of scholarly publication. Prohibited practices include, but are not limited to:
Authors remain responsible for verifying the accuracy, originality, references, analysis, and conclusions of their manuscripts, including any content produced with AI assistance. The use of generative AI must comply with BFRONT applicable AI policy, including disclosure requirements where applicable. AI tools must not be credited as authors.
BFRONT encourages authors to provide a clear and accurate description of each author's contribution where required by the journal's submission process or manuscript template.
Contributions may include conceptualization, methodology, software development, validation, formal analysis, investigation, data curation, visualization, writing of the original draft, critical review and editing, supervision, and project administration.
Individuals who contributed to the work but do not meet all authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately, with their permission where applicable. Funding sources, institutional support, technical assistance, and other relevant contributions should be disclosed transparently.
Acknowledgment must not be used as a substitute for authorship when an individual meets the journal's authorship criteria.
Any dispute concerning authorship, author order, contribution statements, or unauthorized authorship changes should first be addressed by the authors and their affiliated institutions, where appropriate. BFRONT may request written explanations, contribution statements, or confirmation from the individuals involved before proceeding with an editorial decision.
If potential authorship misconduct is identified, the journal will assess the matter in accordance with its Publication Ethics policy and applicable scholarly publishing standards. Depending on the circumstances, editorial actions may include suspending the review process, requesting clarification or corrections, rejecting the manuscript, correcting the published record, or taking other proportionate action.
BFRONT aims to handle authorship concerns fairly, transparently, and consistently while protecting the integrity of the scholarly record.
All authors submitting manuscripts to BFRONT are expected to comply with this Authorship Criteria policy, the journal's Author Guidelines, and its Publication Ethics policy.
By submitting a manuscript, the corresponding author confirms that all listed authors have approved the submission and that the authorship information accurately represents their contributions. All authors are responsible for the integrity of their work and must cooperate with reasonable editorial inquiries concerning authorship, research accuracy, and publication ethics.
Through this policy, BFRONT seeks to promote fair recognition of scholarly contributions, prevent authorship misconduct, and maintain transparency, accountability, and trust in research on blockchain technology and its applications.
